Beyond Gravity is looking for Design Engineering support for a temporary summer position.
This role will participate in ongoing real-life engineering activities alongside professional engineers in the fields of structural mechanics, structural design and systems engineering.
Main Tasks:
Participate in Engineering activities related to the development and production of composite structures Attend meetings with other departments Work alongside experienced engineers in the fields of structural analysis, composite design and systems engineering to support ongoing development and production project lifecycles.
Participate in technical reviews of hardware products with internal stakeholders Use FEA models and classical mechanical analysis to assess the performance of proposed designs against their requirements Create CAD models and drawings of hardware to capture and communicate design intent to Production Requirements/Skill Set:
Minimum:
Completion of two years of undergraduate engineering coursework Exposure to general engineering concepts such as requirements management, trade studies and technical decision making Completed course work in static structural analysis, physics, mechanics of materials, calculus and linear algebra Self-motivated with a passion for solving technical problems Ability to operate as part of a technical team and communicate with a variety of technical and non-technical team members Preferred:
Completed or ongoing course work in one or more of the following:
composite design, computer aided design, continuum mechanics, computational methods (FEM), Systems Engineering, flight vehicle design, advanced aerospace structures, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
