Description
BASIC FUNCTIONS:Responsible for the processing, testing, and release of all hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized coils which require metallurgical certification. Position also requires the preparation, processing, and inspection of slab macros and product macros. Various pieces of testing equipment are used, including the tensile machines, band saw, shears, milling machine, drop-weight tester, charpy machine, chemical hood, spectrometer, etc. Lab Technicians are also required to use Fork Lift and/or Pickup Truck to transport samples from various production locations to the lab building. Along with the coils that require testing certification, other special projects will be undertaken by the lab technicians on a regular basis. This could include claims analysis, defect analysis, gage R&R studies, etc. This position is currently a rotating day position, but may be moving to a 4 on - 4 off day/night position.
